Practice batteries

Five ways to weigh a mind.

A free 12-item gauge, then five longer forms — balanced, culture-fair, verbal, quantitative, and spatial. Each one publishes its weights. You get an index, a range, and a plan for the weak spots.

A finished fluid plate. In the tests, one cell is missing and the rule has to be named.

Timed

Each form has one clock, the way a sitting does. You can move back and flag an item.

Scored in the open

Domain indexes are blended with the published weights. Short scales are pulled toward 100.

Not an admissions test

130 is drawn as a reference line. It does not qualify anyone for anything.

The forms

Weights are applied to the five domain indexes, not to raw luck. Item counts are heaviest where the weight is highest. The free Quick Gauge is open. A Gumroad purchase unlocks the full version on this device.

Quick Gauge

Free

Twelve mixed items and a wide indicative range. Enough to see the format and a first sketch of the profile — not enough to separate the top of the scale.

A briefing, not a full battery.

Balanced composite

Full Scale

$18

Thirty-six items across all five indexes, weighted equally. The form to take when you want one broad estimate rather than a specialty.

Closest thing here to a multi-index profile.

Matrix-weighted

Culture Form

$12

Thirty-six items, almost all figures, timed like a classic progressive-matrix sitting. Language is kept to the instructions. This is the form built to sit in that family — original items, not a copy of any published test.

Style cousin of culture-fair matrix batteries.

  • Fluid 70

  • Logic 10

36 items · 40 minutes · Fluid 25 · Spatial 7 · Logic 4

Language-weighted

Verbal Form

$12

Thirty items centered on analogies, categories, and what follows from a sentence. The estimate moves with verbal relation more than with diagrams.

For when words carry the weight.

  • Logic 25

30 items · 30 minutes · Fluid 3 · Verbal 20 · Logic 7

Number-weighted

Quantitative Form

$12

Thirty items of series and short quantitative reasoning. Arithmetic stays light; the work is seeing the rule. No calculator.

Sequences and quantities, on purpose.

  • Logic 20

30 items · 32 minutes · Fluid 4 · Numerical 20 · Logic 6

Form-weighted

Spatial Form

$12

Thirty items of mental rotation, visual series, and the figures that support them. Reflections are traps. The composite follows spatial form.

Track one landmark; ignore the mirror.

How the number is made

  1. 1. Difficulty points. Each item is worth 1 to 5. A hard hit counts more than an easy one.
  2. 2. Domain index. Your points are compared with the hit rate expected at 100. A domain with two items is pulled toward 100 so it cannot print 150 by itself.
  3. 3. Published weights. The form’s weights blend those indexes. The range widens when the form is short. It is an indicative band from this model, not a clinical confidence interval, and not a norm from a population sample.

The line at 130

Many high-IQ societies use the top 2 percent as a threshold. On a mean of 100 and a standard deviation of 15, that line sits near 130. Meridian draws it on the report so you can see where an estimate falls.

Culture Form is the closest in spirit to a culture-fair matrix sitting: progressive, mostly nonverbal, 36 items, 40 minutes. It is not Raven’s, not Cattell, and not a Mensa paper. Those remain supervised or separately licensed.
